Hawkeyes Taking a Look at PA Running Back

In what is shaping up to be a monumental month of recruiting for Big Ten Champs, Iowa coaches continue to throw a few curve balls at the experts and analysts. The latest shot out of the blue is the story of a Pennsylvania running back that few, if any, Hawkeye fans have heard of who will be in town on December 17th and who now carries an offer from the Hawkeyes. HawkeyeNation.com & Scout.com introduce you to another player who might be a Hawkeye in a couple of weeks...

Clairton (Pa.) running back Dana Brown (5-10, 185, 4.48) received what he considers as a big time offer today. Brown holds five offers; most are to smaller, mid-major schools. On Monday, Brown received an offer from Iowa. Brown was clearly excited about his most recent scholarship offer.

"It will be tough to turn them down," said Brown "That's an opportunity of a lifetime, I always wanted and knew I could play big time college football."

Brown has scheduled and official visit to Iowa (12/17), and barring some unforeseen circumstances he will likely be a Hawkeye. Brown will visit Central Michigan (12/10), and he set a trip for Troy State (1/7). The last visit may be a moot point though for Brown.

"If Iowa is what I think it will be, I may not need anymore trips."

Brown finished his senior season with over 2,100 yards and 36 touchdowns. For his efforts Brown was named as the Eastern Conference's Offensive Player Of The Year, he was selected as a 1st Team All-Conference selection at running back. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently named him to the "Fabulous 22" team, which honors the top 22 players in the Pittsburgh area.
