Octavien was greatly impressed with his official visit to Iowa.
"It was a real good visit, and there was really nothing I could find as a con with Iowa," added Octavien, who will sign a letter of intent on December 16th.
"They have a real good coaching staff, I liked my position coach, and everyone there from the coaches to the players to the fans are passionate about winning football games. They have a good environment, and I can receive a good degree."
"It also doesn't hurt how much publicity I'll be able to receive there with the fact they have two of the nation's best returning linebackers."
Still, do not count out the Huskers or Tar Heels in this race.
"Nebraska still has a lot of their players off the 2002 squad that went 10-3, and their players believe in that system. With the recruiting class they are putting together, I really don't believe it'll be a rebuilding year next year."
North Carolina is returning to a bowl game, and has a real young team. Coach (John) Bunting is a former linebacker, himself, and I really enjoyed my visit there," stated Octavien.
Scout.com will have full coverage of his decision come tomorrow.
