Barry Laird is On the Clock

The Iowa Hawkeyes were the initial school to show interest in Barry Laird as a tight end prospect, and now Laird has seen a few other suitors follow. It is the Hawkeyes though, who will inform him on whether or not he has an offer this week.

"Coach (Eric) Johnson called me this morning, and woke me up before school even started," said Laird. "It was probably a good thing, or otherwise, I would have slept right through school. He told they will let me know about a scholarship on either Wednesday or Thursday. I guess the tight end they hosted on a visit last weekend is going to let them know his decision by that time." Barry Laird said.

Although Laird remains very high on the Hawks, he is also content with his other options.

"I took an official visit to Houston last weekend, and they've offered me a scholarship. I've been on that campus a few times with my brother, and I like it there. Wisconsin also told me last week they were going to sit down as a staff yesterday, and decide who their remaining options were. I expect to hear from them soon on whether I have a scholarship offer or not," stated Laird.
