Corey Robertson Still High on the Hawks

Updates on Elijah Hodge and Corey Robertson

The Colorado Buffaloes hosted Corey Robertson on an official visit this past weekend, and tonight the Robertson family will host head man Gary Barnett on an in-home visit.

"Coach (Gary) Barnett is coming by the house in like five minutes," said Robertson. "I'm not really sure what he is going to have to say as he basically covered all bases. He let me know that they just didn't want me, but that they needed me. They do a good job in producing running backs."

Still, the Buffaloes, along with the Aggies whom he will officially visit this weekend, have some catching up to do.

"I'd say Iowa is still the highest on my list, and these schools are really going to have to show a lot to catch up with them. I'm not ruling anything out, though, as nothing is guaranteed to this point. I also believe Iowa needs me a bit, although, they do have some other running backs up there. Texas A&M already has two running back commitments so I just have to go there to see how well I like it," stated Robertson.

More on Elijah Hodge

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) linebacker Elijah Hodge (6-0, 200, 4.7, Scout.com's #18 LB) now says he denies a leader--but favors Ohio State (11/20 official trip), Iowa (12/10) and Wisconsin (12/17).

"I don't have a leader right now because I haven't been to Wisconsin," says Hodge, from Dillard. "I'm going there this weekend. When I feel it's right to commit that's when I'll do it, but I have to be 100% sure.

"My trip to Ohio State was cool. I got shown around to a lot of the sights of Columbus. I definitely got around that big city. It's a great school and I had a nice time.

"Thomas Matthews (linebacker) was my host. We just sat around and talked-- later on I went to see a movie with him. The highlight of the trip was their game against Michigan. They have a great game day atmosphere. Everybody there is really crazy--they've got some crazy fans.

"I definitely let the coaches there know that I was interested in their program. They've got a great coaching staff there. I really like coaches (Luke) Fickell (linebackers) and (Darrell) Hazell (wide receivers)--they're great guys…really down-to-earth and straight up with you.

"My trip to Iowa this past weekend was good. Friday I got to watch their practice and hang out with my brother, Abdul Hodge (linebacker). But my host was Charles Godfrey (defensive back). I got to hang out with him and talk about football and why he chose to go to school at Iowa.

"Saturday I went to their football banquet…it was a cool experience. They passed out a lot of awards, and everybody had good stuff to say. They said goodbye to their seniors as well.

"The highlight of this past trip was being with my brother because I haven't seen him in a while. It was good spending time with him.

"I like Iowa because they're going to make me work hard if I go there, and I think I'd see a lot of improvement with myself. If you're not going to work hard then you shouldn't go there. They make you better as a player and you can see it in the way they practice.

"I like Wisconsin because I'd be with great coaches, especially coach (Bret) Bielema, and I want to see what they have to offer. And they play Big Ten football--you got to love it.

"I'm not the one responsible for my canceled visit to North Carolina State. I never followed up on it so it didn't happen. I will not officially visit there."
