Speedy Texas Corner Hearing from Iowa

The Iowa Hawkeyes are faring extremely well on the recruiting front this year, but one position has not yielded any results; cornerback. The Hawkeyes remain in touch with Texas speed demon Christopher Douglass, as we tell you in this report

Christopher Douglas (5-9, 173, 4.5, 1 star) denies a leader, but favors Stanford, Northwestern, Rice, Iowa and Kansas State, although neither the K-State Wildcats nor Hawkeyes have offered.

"Kansas State and Iowa still call and I hear from them a lot," said Douglas. "I'm supposed to hear from them during the break about whether or not they'll offer. Hopefully, I'll hear from them next week. I definitely plan to visit them in January. I want to take all five of my visits before I commit."

Douglas has already visited Rice on December 10. "The campus is real nice. It's pretty big but the student population is pretty small so there's a lot of room. I like the social interaction there because it's in downtown and there are like three other schools nearby. I also liked the students and players. It seemed like a fun place and I was pretty comfortable there."

He will be visiting Northwestern on January 14 and Stanford on January 7. "I heard the campus at Stanford was magnificent and I can't wait to check it out. The weather is supposed to be awesome too. I'm eager to meet the new coaches and find out what kind of plans they have. I spoke with the defensive back Coach (A.J. Christoff) and he told me not to worry about the coaching change and that I'm still at the top of their list. He said that Coach Walt Harris is an offensive minded coach and that'll only benefit me.

"It's gonna boil down to where I'm the most comfortable because I need to be there for 4-5 years, so it's an important decision. I'm not the kind of guy that gets homesick so I'm not worried about location. It's more about the people I'll be around."
