Forget Super Bowl Sunday; the biggest day of the year for college football fans is the first Wednesday in February, the day that prospects can sign binding letters of intent with the colleges of their choice.
Barring a major curve ball, Signing Day 2005 should be a formality for the Iowa Hawkeye football program, as they are expected to ink perhaps the best recruiting class in school history.
And why shouldn't they? To the victors go the spoils, and the Hawkeyes are one of four programs in the nation to win 10 or more games in each of the last three seasons. They have won 31 games during that span, they have played in three-straight New Year's Day Bowl games and they have finished each of those seasons ranked number eight in the nation.
The Bullies of the Big Ten are swimming in deep waters, as no other Big Ten team can make all of those claims, save the Hawkeyes.
Let this be your program to Signing Day 2005 here on HawkeyeNation.com.
