Missouri TE Lists Favorites; Includes Iowa

Missouri tight end Michael McNeil (6-4, 215, 4.6) denies a leader, but favors Nebraska (first to offer), Louisville, Iowa, Michigan State and Kansas. Only the Huskers have offered. "I really can't say that I've got a leader right now, but I'm really interested in all of the schools in my top five," said McNeil, from Kirkwood SR High School.

"It's a real bonus that Nebraska offered me. I really like coach (Kevin) Cosgrove (linebackers). I've spoken with him a lot and he is a really cool guy. I love their West Coast style offense, and they do throw the ball to the tight end a fair amount. I also hear the fans there are awesome, and that's a plus.

"I'll be going to Nebraska at the end of the month (4/30) for an unofficial visit.

"I've only talked with coach (Joe) Whitt Jr. (rec coord/cornerbacks) from Louisville only once. He is a great guy also. I also love how they're leading the nation with their offensive production.

"Iowa is a solid program but there's been no indication of an offer from them," he said.

"I don't know that much about the program at Michigan State, but I have talked with coach (Reggie) Mitchell (rec coord/running backs) twice.

"I was at Kansas' JR Day a little while ago and I had a great time. They've got a great coaching staff and some great facilities too."

McNeil has also been to JR Days at Missouri, Northwestern and Michigan.

"I'm undecided on where I'll take in camps this summer," he said. "But I know that I'm most interested in going to the camps of the programs in my top five.

"I'm probably going to look to take all of my official visits, so that I can take some time and really see who's interested in me. I think I'll be able to make the right decision on a program after that. I really want to go to a school with some die-hard fans.

"I'm a great receiver with some good hands. I jump well and I've got long arms to go out there and grab the ball. I also block well too. I'm looking to add some more weight to my body and get stronger for sure."

Final JR (10-2) stats: 44 catches/806 yds/6 TDs; Bench: 310/Squat: 450/Vert Jump: 30"
