Hawkeyes Lead for Talented WR Andrey Baskin

Camden (N.J.) wide receiver Andrey Baskin (6-4, 200, 4.6) claims about 30 offers so far, his latest coming in the past month from Toledo, Miami (FL), Ohio State, Fresno State, West Virginia and North Carolina State. But as of right now, Iowa's New Jersey connections has put them in the lead for this talented pass catcher. Read this latest update from Baskin...

"Those are my latest offers, but right now my top five is Iowa, Michigan, USC, North Carolina State and Virginia. All of those schools have sent me written offers," said Baskin, from Wilson High School. "Right now Iowa is my leader. I just like them right now.

"USC and Michigan are my #2 and #3 schools, but I don't know that much about them. I want to do some more research on them, but right now it doesn't look like I'm going to get to any of these schools for camps or unofficial visits this summer," he said.

"I still want to make my decision on a school closer to Signing Day.

"I like the nice academic program that Iowa has to offer, and they run a nice offense that I feel I could be comfortable in. They also seem to have a nice player-coach relationship thing there. I've been able to see how their team is by watching some of their games on TV. I like how they spread the ball and run it too. It's a nice 50-50 mix of both with them.

"My old teammates, Harold Dalton (defensive back) and Nyere Aumaitre (offensive line), go there and they've told me that they've had no problems with anyone, coaches or players. They said that the coaches there are all real nice guys. I've never been to the state of Iowa. The coaches there send me a lot of handwritten mail, but I haven't really spoken with them lately."
