"Both Illinois and Nebraska have a slight edge on the other schools in my top five," said Clayborn.
"I like how Illinois is going to be a better team with coach (Ron) Zook there now. They're a team on-the-rise and they've got some great tradition there. I think it would be a great place for me. I've mostly spoken with coach (Reggie) Mitchell (running backs) from there and he really wants to get me there for a camp this summer, and show me and my mom around the campus. He also told me that I could play linebacker there as well.
"Nebraska has also offered to let me play linebacker there too. I'm a better defensive end than I am a linebacker, and I'd prefer playing defensive end in college," he said.
"I've spoken with coach (Kevin) Cosgrove (linebackers) from Nebraska and he's a real nice guy. I like the way he presented their program to me. He told me that I have a bright future ahead and to keep playing hard all the time. I've never been there, but my friend Paddy Mullen (Notre Dame commitment) has been there and he told me that he liked it a lot.
"I've been around Missouri's program a lot growing up. I've been there about 7-10 times and I've taken camps there and stuff. The coaches at my high school are friends with all of the coaches there. I've also established some great relationships with coaches (Cornell) Ford (cornerbacks) and (Gary) Pinkel.
"I'm in touch with coach (Eric) Johnson (tight ends) from Iowa. They want to see me at their camp before they offer because they offered so many defensive linemen last year, that they're only going to take one guy for the line this year.
"I'm going to Iowa's camp on June 18 for a couple of days and I'll also take an unofficial visit to Illinois sometime this summer," he said. Other offers include Indiana, Houston and Michigan State.
