"It was a great camp where the coaches were able to be hands on with everyone, and were able to actually teach," said Epstein. "There was another linebacker there from Chicago (Kevin Green) who I know was getting a lot of attention besides myself at linebacker. There were also quite a bit of talented lineman there, but overall Iowa is just a great place. They have some of the country's best facilites and coaches which is why they are one of the nation's top programs."
Epstein, who measured in at 6'2 and weighed in at 225, received a lot of praise from the Hawkeye coaches.
"I know their Defensive Coordinator (Norm Parker) really likes my film, but because he was sick, I worked more with the outside linebacker coach (Darrell Wilson), who did a very good job. I was real physical, and moved very well, and I think they were happy to see I added some size to be able to shed blocks better.
When my father asked Coach Parker if he thought I could play at Iowa, he responded there was a very good chance. I'm supposed to call Coach (Eric) Johnson on Tuesday to find out where I stand on their board," stated Epstein.
Tyler also plans to attend camps at Illinois, Indiana, Cincinnati, and Northwestern this summer
