Andrey Baskin Sets First Official Visit

Andrey Baskin Update

Wide receiver Andrey Baskin (6-4, 200, 4.6) reports he's set up his first official visit with North Carolina State for September 3-4 when the Wolfpack start the season against Virginia Tech.

"North Carolina State just offered me actually," said Baskin, from Wilson High School in Camden. "I've liked them for a real long time and I want to take a chance on them by taking an official visit out there. I'm definitely going.

"I also want to get out to Syracuse for an official visit around September 17 as well. Those two official visits will probably be the only ones I'll take during the season. Then I want to take two more after the season. I still want to commit to a program before Signing Day," he said.

"Right now I've got interest in Tennessee, Syracuse, Iowa, Purdue, Michigan, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC and Nebraska. All of them have offered me.

"The two schools that seem to be recruiting me the hardest right now are Tennessee and Iowa. I'd say that they've got the edge on those other schools I'm considering.

"I still don't know that much about these schools, but I know that Tennessee and Iowa have both shown a lot of interest in me.

"I'm still trying to figure out where I can go for some unofficial visits this summer, but I really don't know if I'm going to end up taking any," he said.

2.8 GPA/June 4 SAT unreported.
