Moeller Visits Iowa City; Weighing Options

Tyler Moeller visited Iowa City last about what the linebacker thought of his visit and what his plans are related to his recruitment...

In February of this year, not many people believed that Tyler Moeller was much of a D-1 prospect, except for Moeller himself of course. He was undersized, he didn't stand out, Tyler heard all of the reasons why he'd never see a major D-1 football field.

When I saw Moeller on film, I saw a relentless linebacker who was constantly around the football and he had the one thing college recruiters covet the most from linebackers and that was speed.

Four months later, Moeller has picked up some pretty impressive scholarship offers. He has camped and visited with several different schools.

Moeller, a 6-foot-1, 205-pounder, from Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain recently visited Virginia Tech, Louisville and Iowa. The Hawkeyes and the Hokies have both offered but Louisville's Bobby Petrino was out of the country when Moeller came through this past week for a visit.

Petrino could come through with a Louisville offer this week.

"At Iowa, Coach Ferentz and everyone we came in contact with were impressive." Moeller said.

"Virginia Tech was beautiful, the campus was very nice. Louisville had great facilities."

Moeller told that he'll be headed for a much needed vacation. When he returns, he could have several more scholarship offers wating. Not bad for a prospect who some said would only be a DIII linebacker at best.
