Devin Smith Leads Coffeyville to Victory

Coffeyville JC's victory in the first round of the JUCO national tournament was made easier by the all around play of 6-6 shooting guard, Devin Smith. His 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists keyed the victory for his team.

Interested onlookers included Kansas coach Roy Williams, Cincinatti coach Bob Huggins and Virginia's Pete Gillen. Iowa was represented by assistant coach Greg Lansing and Kentucky was represented by their top aide.

Van Coleman said that "Devin is great in the open court and can create his own shot. In addition, he is an excellent rebounder!"

"He is a DIFFERENCE MAKER now and will be wherever he goes to school" added Coleman.

Coffeyeville's next game is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
