Tyler Moeller, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound, linebacker, from Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain, has been asked by his coach (Kerry Coombs) to cut off interviews from the media and concentrate on the up coming season.
Moeller is arguably the hottest prospect in the Midwest and he was set to choose between Iowa and Virginia Tech before Ohio State offered early last week and Tennessee wanted to jump in the mix as well.
Moeller told Scout.com last week that he does have a leader but he's not ready to go public with that yet. Tyler did visit Ohio State with his family last week as well but no verbal commitment was given to the Buckeyes.
Iowa is the school to beat at this point. Ohio State only gets Moeller's verbal commitment if Tyler decides he'd like to stay closer to home. If distance isn't a factor and Tennessee decides to pull the trigger on an offer for Moeller, that could put the Bucks behind both the Vols and the Hawkeyes.
The "X" factor here is Moeller's teammate Connor Smith. Within the next week or so, Smith is expected to give Ohio State his verbal commitment. Smith and Moeller are very good friends and that could also keep the linebacker in the Buckeye State.
