Illinois Prep LB Favors Hawkeyes & Boilermakers

Illinois linebacker/running back Kevin Green (6-2, 200, 4.7) still says Iowa (10/22 official trip) and Purdue (10/8) lead slightly over Louisville, Boston College and Minnesota. All have offered except for the Cardinals.

"Iowa and Purdue are still my leaders over the other schools in my top five," said Kevin Green, from North Chicago Community High School.

"I plan on taking all five of my official visits, and I'd like to get out to both Minnesota and Boston College, but I'm really not sure at this point. I've also been getting highly recruited by Alabama and Louisville, but they haven't offered me yet.

"Iowa is a really hardworking football team and I really like how they stress discipline over there. They're coming off a big win against Ball State and I like how they just kept putting numbers on the board during that game. They really never stopped the intensity," he said.

"I've had the chance to get out to Purdue before and talk with coach (Brock) Spack (linebackers) from there. He's showed me the depth at the linebacker position and showed me that if I came in ready to work hard, I'd have a good chance at playing my freshman year.

"But my decision is probably going to come down to area and where I ultimately feel comfortable," Green said. "I still like the idea of getting out to Boston College and seeing what they have to offer. All these schools are looking at me to play both running back and linebacker. I don't have a preference on either one, I just want to be on the field."

His high school is off to a 2-0 start and Green has had 17+ tackles and 23 carries for 230 yards and two touchdowns.

3.4 GPA/19 ACT--retake unset--"I know that I'm qualified. I just want to see if I can do better. I haven't set up a date yet for when I'll retake the test."
