Q: Is it always special to start conference play, is that always a special feeling, that first game?
Ed Hinkel: It's always nice to get into conference play. We've got to look at it as another game. It's obviously a big one for us. The start of our second season here. We've got to be ready for it.
Q: Is this the kind of game that could reveal a little bit more about the character of this team?
Hinkel: I think so, I mean definitely. Your identity is something you're going to find out throughout the year. As the season goes on, I think we'll know more towards the end of the year, but this is the place we're going to start to find out.
Q: Last year's victory over the Buckeyes, does that give you some confidence going up against them again?
Hinkel: I think it definitely gives us some confidence knowing that we can play with them and everything. We're going to see a completely different team than what we saw here last year. We caught them at a good time last year. I'm sure this is one they have circled.
Q: You've been to the Horseshoe before, what strikes you when you walk onto the field, what do you notice first about that place?
Hinkel: The place is huge. I guess it's similar looking to Penn State, what they have. It gets loud in there. It's one of the loudest stadiums we play in, there and Penn State, it's an intimidating place to walk into.
Q: You guys are running the ball a little bit better so far this year, is that making things easier on the offense?
Hinkel: Yeah, I think it definitely makes things easier on the offense. We've had a lot of good things in the run game so far, and it just shows what we can do when we execute. We can run the ball pretty well and that's going to help our passing game too.
