Iowa's Strategy Key in Landing Cleveland

James Cleveland, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound, wide receiver, from Baytown (TX) Lee has given Iowa his verbal commitment. This according to Lee coach Dick Olin.

"James committed to Iowa last night," Coach Olin said. "I think what put Iowa out front is that they have a good program and James really, really liked his visit.

"Iowa's strategic move to bring James in for a September official visit was genius on their part. We had an open date for that weekend and James went up to Iowa City.

"It's a little warmer in Iowa City in September than it is in December. James hasn't experienced the Midwest winter yet but he'll be alright. Good move on Iowa's part.

"Another reason James chose Iowa is that we have a few kids in the program up their and there's just a comfort level with the Iowa program. James is going to be playing with some teammates that he's familiar with and they'll help him adjust to being a way from home."
