Gearing Up For 4/22 Scout.com Combine in Iowa

Josh Clark has been busy helping Scout.com fill out it's lineup for the upcoming Scout.com All-American Combine to be held in Iowa City on April 22nd. During this time, he has assembled a series of quotes from several Hawkeye targets and shares them here..Could Iowa strike nine-man football lightning from Mt. Vernon, South Dakota again in the class of 2007? (Jake Steffen of Mt. Vernon, pictured)

Humboldt Defensive Tackle Cody Hundertmark (6-4/265)

Iowa's Interest Level:
"Coach (Reese) Morgan told me he really likes my explosiveness and how well I get off the ball. He wants me to come to camp this summer, and told me just to concentrate on being the best I can be at that time."

Thoughts on Attending Iowa's Camp Last Summer
"I really was able to learn a lot like hand placement, different techniques and making reads. It was very helpful to learn how to read what the offensive lineman does with their head. If they bring their head up, you know it is a pass block, and if they bring their head down, you know it is a run block."

Humboldt Linebacker Tyler Nielsen (6-4/215/4.55)

On Attending Iowa's Junior Day
"Iowa has outstanding facilities, and really everything there is top of the line, including the coaches. I felt very comfortable with their coaching staff. They want me to attend their camp, but let me know they are very interested."

Oskaloosa Safety Tyler Sash (6-1/190/4.55)

Projected Position
"Coach (Phil) Parker told me he wanted me to see me at camp, and that he would work me out as a safety."

Being a Two-Sport Athlete
"Iowa State has offered me a scholarship, and they told me that I could play both sports. That is what I want to do, unless, it isn't in my best interest. I haven't tried, yet, on the collegiate level so I don't know the demands. I haven't heard from anyone with the Hawkeye basketball team."

Mount Vernon (SD) Athlete Jake Steffen (6-4/215/4.75)

Same Hometown as Hawkeye Linebacker Chad Greenway
"My family is good family friends with his since my dad coached him in high school. I can remember back to those state championship teams he was on. It is amazing how far he has come, and how well he has developed. He has really given a lot of hope, not only to me, but to all prospects around South Dakota, that we can make it."

Greenway's Comments on Iowa
"Chad told me he loved it at Iowa, and that he was in the same situation as myself in high school. The Iowa coaches were the only one to give him an opportunity, and he said he was blessed because the coaches and program are the best I will find around."

Iowa's Interest Level
"I called Coach Morgan on Signing Day, and he invited me to their summer camp. He told me he thought I was a good athlete, and he really wanted to emphasize that I continue to focus on being an athlete. He doesn't want my only concern to be about football. He likes my size and speed."
