NWS Postgame Quotes: Erek Hansen

Erek Hansen spoke with the media following Iowa's loss to Northwestern State in the NCAA Tournament in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Read what he had to say in this premium transcript.

Q: This is probably painful to go out like this. How difficult is it right now?

Erek Hansen: It just feels horrible. We're seniors, this is our last game, we're done now. I just don't know what to do, what to say.

Q: Your thoughts when that final shot went through the hoop?

Hansen: Just unbelievable. You see stuff like that happen all the time, you don't think it's going to happen to you.

Q: Erek, how hard is it knowing you won't be playing with these guys again?

Hansen: (unintelligible) What am I going to do now, I don't know where to go from here.

Q: Still, you have to be proud of what you guys have done this year.

Hansen: Yeah, good season, good strong season, just wish it wouldn't have ended like this.

Q: Is this kind of a testament to just how badly every team in this tournament wants to win?

Hansen: Definitely, it's a totally different tournament, unlike any lead tournament, this is the tournament where every team comes in here battling, as hard as they can, one and done, nobody wants to go home.

Q: Is it hard to look at your teammates right now?

Hansen: I don't really want to look at anybody right now. I know they're feeling just as bad as I am, it's a hard time right now.
