Columbia, Missouri (Rock Bridge) Tight End Aron White (6'4 210)
At the tight end position, there may not be a more anticipated participant than White. While the man throwing him passes, Logan Gray, has received national attention, thus far, White has not received the attention he deserves. That could change if he performs up to his ability at the combine and has a strong showing. White doesn't have the traditional frame of a tight end, but as a receiver, he is as effective as any you'll find in the Midwest.
Cozad, Nebraska Offensive Lineman Luke Pinkelman (6'3 270)
This is a prospect whose stock could shoot up the charts this spring and summer. He will likely be viewed as a center prospect to many due to his size, but there may not be a stronger lineman in the entire country. Already holding a state record in the shot put as a sophomore with a throw of 62'6, he is likely to better that effort considerably in his junior campaign. Not to mention, he benches over 400 pounds. Playing against small competition, his footwork will be examined closely at the combine, but I expect Pinkelman is a guy that could walk away with a lot more name value.
Bloomington, Illinois (Central Catholic) Defensive Lineman Josh Brent (6'3 280)
One of the top defensive lineman in Illinois, Brent attracted recruiters from all around the Midwest this past winter, and that is likely to increase this spring. Brent has already received offers from Illinois and Indiana, and has received quite a bit of interest from Hawkeye assistant Lester Erb.
Class of 2008 Prospects Quarterback John Thiegland and Running Back Adam Robinson
Indianola, Iowa quarterback John Thiegland and Des Moines Lincoln running back Adam Robinson also recently registered to attend the combine. Only a handful of Class of 2008 prospects will be invited, and these are two youngsters to keep an eye on. Invitations have also been sent out to West Des Moines Valley running back Joe Johnson and defensive end Jacob McDonough, Davenport Assumption athlete Willie Argo, and Ankeny linebacker Andrew Foley.
More Registrants On The Way
Cretin-Derham Hall's duo of quarterback Joe Springer and linebacker Broderick Binns are both strongly considering attending. Chicago Morgan Park cornerback Marcus Thomas is also strongly considering, and would upgrade the talent at the cornerback position considerably. Also, it appears that Brother Rice offensive lineman Darris Sawtelle and linebacker Chris Colasanti are giving strong consideration to attending the attention - that would a huge coup if they were to attend.
