Wisconsin Prep to Attend Scout Combine

While Josh Oglesby and John Clay will receive the majority of headlines in the state of Wisconsin, there are still others who very well could make a name for themselves this spring and summer. One such prospect, Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin safety/quarterback Jacob Juedes, will have his first chance to make a great impression at the Scout.com All-American Combine in Iowa City, Iowa on April 22nd.

As a junior, Jacob Juedes recorded 89 tackles (17 for loss) and two interceptions. On offense, he rushed for 855 yards and 14 touchdowns on 104 carries. He threw for 825 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions in completing 62 of 105 pass attempts.

"Jacob has great hitting ability," said head coach Dan Juedes, Jacob's father. "He hits like a linebacker. The most telling stat from his junior season is the 17 tackles for loss he recorded. He plays exceptionally against the run."

While the majority of interest in Juedes has been at the safety position, Coach Juedes said they are not done ruling out the possibility of Jacob playing quarterback.

"I know at Wisconsin's camp, he'll attend one day to work out at safety, and then attend another one day camp to workout at quarterback."

The Juedes family recently attended one of Wisconsin's Junior Days where they got a chance to learn more regarding the Badger's interest.

"Coach (Bret) Bielema asked that we mail him directly a highlight film of Jacob at safety as he had not yet seen any. I believe in the next week or so, I should gain a better indication of their interest level," the elder Juedes stated.

"During our school's spring break, we are looking at attending spring practices at Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Northern Illinois. We are also considering attending practices at Iowa, Indiana, Iowa State, Illinois, and/or Minnesota."

While Juedes will participate in Wisconsin's summer camp, his father and he will await the month of May before determining in any other camps.

"We want to gauge each school's level of interest in him before making a final decision. It's likely we'll attend camps at Northwestern and Northern Illinois, too," Juedes explained.

"Northern Illinois said they'll be bringing Coach (Joe) Novak up to the school in May."

"I've played phone tag with Coach (Lester) Erb and Coach (Eric) Johnson from Iowa, but they have indicated they have a strong interest in Jacob as a safety. They'd just like him for him to attend their camp."

"I sent film to Minnesota three weeks ago, and they've begun sending a lot of mail."

"Coach (Stan) Parrish from Ball State has shown a lot of interest."

"Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa State have all asked for Jacob to make a visit to one of their spring practices."

Juedes is expected to workout at both positions at the Scout.com All-American Combine, and will be a name to watch in Iowa City on April 22nd.
