"I'd like to keep everything quiet," Josh Bynes said, "but I guess you could say that Auburn is my favorite. They have a slight lead over Iowa and Tennessee. I already went to camp at Auburn and the players there are like brothers. They are very close. They take care of one another and are great guys to be around. They don't sugarcoat anything either, which I like.
"Iowa produces good linebackers. It just seems like a linebacker school. They had Abdul Hodge who also went to Anderson High and he was drafted by Green Bay in the third round. George Lewis, from Dillard, also went there.
"Tennessee is recruiting me pretty good," he said. "I'd have an opportunity to come in and play there. Auburn, South Carolina, Iowa, Arizona State and LSU have all told me they think I can play soon. I can't really say where I could probably play the earliest. It doesn't matter. I might redshirt but I think I can come in and play. I'm also going to camp at LSU on June 23 and maybe at Tennessee too. I have 25 total offers.
"I might commit early somewhere, like in a couple of months. But I'm not sure really."
He denies any parental preference. His childhood favorite is Miami, but that isn't a factor.
Junior season stats: 127 solo tackles.
Bynes reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 740 SAT. He'll retake in August or September.
