Mizzou's White Likes the City

Columbia (Mo.) tight end/wide receiver Aron White (6-4, 215, 4.7) denies a favorite. "I have 22 offers right now, and I haven't sat down to come up with any real favorites. Right now, I just like some more than others," White said. White has an offer from Iowa. Find out where his recruitment stands in this update from Scout.com

The four-star prospect (Scout.com's No. 14 tight end) from Rock Bridge High School focused on Georgia, Kansas State, Arizona State, California, Nebraska and Iowa. All have offered. "My first offer was from Missouri, and my most recent offer was from Clemson this week," Aron White said.

"I'm good at receiving and running routes. I want to improve my blocking skills and put on more weight in the weight room.

"Georgia's coach (Mark) Richt is real honest, and as a coach it's probably hard to always be honest because you have to do so much recruiting and tell guys what they want to hear. But everything he said to me really made sense. I went to visit about two weeks ago and toured the campus and saw the facilities. I liked everything as a whole—but nothing stood out. Georgia is one of the only schools recruiting me as a wide receiver, but I'm sure I'd make enough of an impact to move to tight end," White said.

"Coach (Ron) Prince came from a special program at Virginia and is now the coach at Kansas State. He's a Christian, and even though he's the head coach, he makes his players feel comfortable enough to call and talk to him anytime. Kansas State is recruiting me the hardest right now.

"I've always liked Arizona State, even before they started recruiting me. I like what they do with the ball—they run a lot of double tight ends, where they have two tight ends on the field at the same time. I plan to visit in the first week of August," he said.

"California is such a great university. In my house, you have to get good grades. So my ultimate attraction is the academics at Cal. They are also voted pre-season top 10 in the nation. I want to visit in two or three weeks.

"Nebraska has a ridiculous campus. I visited over the past weekend and they have a new football addition to their stadium, new bathrooms, a new locker room, and a new training table where they serve food," White said.

"I went to Iowa early in the school year to visit for Junior Day, but they just offered a month or two ago. Iowa's location is a lot like Columbia, just a little bit colder. Coach Kirk Ferentz coached in the NFL and he seemed like a smart guy.

"I would still like to take a few more visits by the end of the summer. I've been to some camps with my team, and I have enough offers to where I don't need to go to any other camps," he said. "My parent's input will be a big factor in my decision, but they will let me decide. I always figured I would go away for college, so distance doesn't matter. I'm looking for good coaches and a city that has at least 100,000 people in it, and warm weather would be great."

White reports a 3.2 core GPA and a 28 ACT.
