Illinois LB Kevin Rouse Talks Recruiting

Joliet Catholic Academy (Ill.) linebacker Kevin Rouse (6-1, 220, 4.6) denied a leader, but seems most interested in Wisconsin, Iowa and Northwestern over Pittsburgh, Iowa State, Minnesota and North Carolina State.

"I still can't say I have any favorites out of my top seven. I just don't want to let it out and then have things change, to be honest," Kevin Rouse said.

"I went to Wisconsin last Thursday (July 6) with my dad, brother and grandpa, and they told me I would be second to play because of the depth chart on my position. I'd been there a few times before to visit, so coach Dave Doeren showed us around the campus again and I got to meet one of the linebackers, Jonathan Casillas. Wisconsin has an amazing campus and it's right by some lakes.

"Iowa is a big name in football. They are in the bowl game every year," he said.

"Northwestern's new head coach, Pat Fitzgerald, stands out because he's the most personable coach I know," he said.

"I will announce my top three after I visit Pittsburgh, which has great linebackers and city surroundings, and North Carolina State at the end of July. After that, it looks like I'll be ready to commit, maybe even in the beginning of August." Rouse bench presses 300, squats 550 and has a 34" vertical jump.

He reports a 3.5 core GPA and a 26 ACT.
