Anderson Favors Hawkeyes

Three-star tailback/fullback William Anderson (5-11, 220, 4.65) from St. Louis Hazelwood East (Mo.) hasn't received any new scholarship offers since the last time we spoke with him, leaving his total at three (Nebraska, Illinois and Missouri). Anderson favors Iowa slightly over Georgia Tech and those two have an edge over Nebraska, Missouri and Illinois.

"Iowa said they want to see my first two games before they offer me," William Anderson said. "I really like the coaches there. They are smart and I felt a good connection with them. Even though they haven't offered, they keep in contact the most."

He attended a camp at Iowa and visited Georgia Tech unofficially last weekend (July 16). "It was a great visit," Anderson said. "I really like head coach Chan Gailey. He's all about business. I also like the campus a lot. It's in downtown and there's a lot to do, but it's still pretty peaceful and quiet. The facilities were also really impressive. They were top of the line. "Nebraska also has really impressive facilities," Anderson said. "They have a great weight room. It's really big and they're still building more, so they will be even bigger."

Anderson says that he plans to wait before deciding on a school. "I want to go through the whole process. I want to take my visits and get to know all the coaches before I commit," Anderson said.

He reports a 2.8 GPA and will be retaking the SAT in the fall. "It wasn't too good the first time I took it."
