It's time for a look at the 2006 season from a Big Ten perspective, circa Week Eight. Jon Miller breaks down each team, game by game, until we get through all 12 weeks. We've taken a look at the first seven weeks, including going a perfect 11-0 in Week One Big Ten games, and now we are into Big Ten regular season play for most of the clubs.

Illinois at Penn State: It gets so repetitive when picking Illinois games in Big Ten play. PENN STATE

Indiana at Ohio State: The same can be said for the Hoosiers. OHIO STATE

Michigan State at Northwestern: I guess I just don't believe in Michigan State, or John L. Smith. They lose games like this each year…and more than one! NORTHWESTERN

North Dakota State at Minnesota: Hey, the Gophers win a game in late October! Stop the presses! MINNESOTA

Wisconsin at Purdue: Wow, this might be one of the harder games to predict this year. Wisconsin's defense projects to be the best unit on the field. I like for the Badgers to go in and win this one. WISCONSIN

Iowa at Michigan: OK Folks. I like Iowa's chances in this game better than I do at home against Ohio State, and I picked Iowa to win that. But I just can't pick Iowa to go 12-0. I want to, but I am not going to. MICHIGAN

Jon Miller's Predicted Big Ten Standings after Seven Games

7-1 (4-1) Iowa
7-1 (4-1) Michigan
7-1 (4-1) Wisconsin
6-2 (4-1) Penn State
7-1 (3-1) Ohio State
5-3 (2-3) Purdue
4-4 (1-3) Michigan State
5-3 (1-3) Northwestern
4-4 (0-4) Indiana
3-5 (0-4) Illinois
3-5 (0-4) Minnesota

Iowa and Michigan are both in the Top Ten after this week, as is Ohio State. Wisconsin is Top 15 and Penn State is likely in that bunch as well. Iowa takes a Big Ten break against a stout Northern Illinois team and Penn State is at Purdue. There is little drama in the Big Ten for Week Nine.
