INJURY REPORT: Starting Center Rafael Eubanks warmed up with the team but did not play. He, Chris Doyle and head trainer Paul Federicci tested out the knee that Eubanks hurt last week in the pre-game warm-ups but must not have scene what they wanted. Ferentz said that Eubanks practiced very little this week, but could have gone if he had to.
Alex Kanellis returned to action after having an appendectomy last week in Champaign. The sophomore returned to practice on Thursday.
Marcus Paschal injured his hamstring in the first half and was replaced by Marcus Wilson. Ferentz was unsure of the extent of the injury.
LINE CHANGE: The injury to Eubanks pushed Seth Olsen into the starting line-up for a second straight week. Mike Elgin, who started the first four games at RG, moved over to center and Olsen slipped into the RG spot.
Olsen started last week at LG in place of the suspended Mike Jones. Jones returned this week to his normal LG slot.
MOOD TEST: Though disappointed, most of the players in the locker room felt good about their chances the rest of the season, especially Tate.
Tate talked about Iowa leaving too many plays on the field and took the blame for the loss. Ferentz had mixed emotions about his quarterback throwing himself under the bus.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Tate has matured quite a bit since last season and good things are ahead for him.
