4-star RB out of Bolingbrook, Ill Dale Martin took an unofficial visit to Iowa City on September 30th to see Iowa take on #1 Ohio State in Kinnick Stadium. Martin noticed the crowd, and the crowd certainly noticed Martin.
"It was cool. There were a lot of people there. A lot of yellow, everybody got up for it," Martin said. "The fans showed me a lot of love, I walked on the field, the fans were chanting my name. It was crazy."
The crowd was loud until the very end, and it made an impression on Martin.
"They showed they can get up for their football games," he said. "They don't have a pro team. They're like their pro team, they get up for it."
It was a big recruiting weekend for Iowa, with many current commitments for the Hawks on the sidelines.
As most commitments do, the Iowa verbals did their part to try and sway Martin.
"They all told me they wanted me, but they didn't really pressure me," he said. "They know I'm still going through the process."
Martin said he has not scheduled any officials visits yet, but will look to schedule some soon.
Tennessee retains a slight lead over other schools, including Iowa, Wisconsin, and NC State.
