Greg McCoy has been off the radar for about a month, so we decided to check in with the 3-star CB out of Dallas, Tex. McCoy says he isn't really focusing too much on recruiting at the moment.
"It's really not what I'm focused on right now," McCoy said. "I'm just focused on getting all my grades, getting that out of the way.
"I have to look into a lot of stuff, see what schools are going to benefit me the most. It's hard finding out where I'm going to spend the next 4 or 5 years in school."
"If I wanted to leave the state, then I would go to Iowa, most likely," he said. "I don't really know."
McCoy said he hopes to take an official visit to Texas Tech in the near future, but a definitive date has not yet been determined.
Woodrow Wilson High School is 7-0, and looking to enter the playoffs as a #1 seed. McCoy has been dominant, playing offense, defense, and returning kicks.
"I can't think of my stats right off hand, but I have had good games so far," he said. "We're 7-0 right now. One game I scored three times, one game I scored five times, but they call a lot of them back.
"Our team has a problem with blocking in the back, and they were all on punt returns," McCoy continued. "When they stop blocking in the back, then we'll be able to read about it in the newspaper. Until then, I can tell you how many touchdowns I've scored, but there's nothing to show for it unless it's in black and white."
McCoy said he likely won't make his decision until after the season is over, and he has a chance to look over his prospective schools.
