PG Mike Henderson Commits to Iowa

Positive news finally came for Iowa basketball after a tumultuous summer. Mike Henderson, a 6-3, 190 pound combo guard from Waterloo East has surrendered to the advances of the Iowa basketball staff. Henderson had previously rejected Iowa State this summer when he de-committed.

Just a day after I reported on Iowa focusing their recruiting on guards, a guard has stepped forward and given Iowa an oral commitment

"Mike Henderson is a point guard that can also play the two guard spot", said FutureStars recruiting guru, Van Coleman.

Van added that "I think that Iowa was interested in bringing in a combo guard. Mike Henderson is a combo guard that could backup Horner at the point and also be able to pick up some minutes giving Pierre Pierce a breather at the two spot. He may be their top priority for that reason", said Coleman . That versatility will now be on display at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

"Mike elevated his status this summer to top 100. He also fits the combination that is at Iowa now. Henderson is as quick as anyone in the country and can go one-on-one with anybody", added Coleman

Finally, some good news from Iowa basketball.
