Iowa has been showing interest in Carl Robinson, a RB out of Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia, inviting him in for a visit, recently.
Robinson has been off the radar for most of the season, something that surprises his Coach, Travis Dixon. Dixon had nothing but great things to say about his star RB.
"He's the best back I've ever watched play the game at the high school level," Dixon said. "He's a small back, but he runs with power. I tell people he runs like Barry Sanders but finishes like Walter Payton. Very good lateral mobility, a good burst of speed. He's got a 6.2 power index, which means his bench, squat, and clean are 6.2 times his body weight, which is pretty dang impressive."
Robinson, who has narrowed his choices down to Kentucky and Iowa, has a very unique personality for someone so gifted at football.
"Athletically especially, he's got a great work ethic," Dixon said. "Sort of a quiet guy. He's a very good guy."
Robinson is a cousin of former Iowa quarterback Brad Banks, which is how he originally heard about the Iowa Hawkeyes. This is Coach Dixon's first time interacting with the Iowa staff, specially Ron Aiken.
"I'm very impressed with Coach Aiken," Dixon said. "He's a very good man. I'd heard great things about him as a recruiter, and I've been very impressed with my conversations with him."
Robinson will be taking a visit to Kentucky, who has already offered on January 12th. Iowa has not yet offered, but Robinson will be in town on the 19th to visit campus.
