Garrett Goebel, a 6-5, 270 pound DT/OL from Montini Catholic HS in Lombard, Ill. Has picked up yet another offer, adding to a list that already included Ohio State, Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona State, Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma State. The Iowa Hawkeyes became his 11th offer this morning.
"I got a text message this morning from my recruiting coordinator, Lester Erb," Goebel said. "He wanted me to call him after school. He let me know that Coach Ferentz watched my film and loved the way I played. They sent a scholarship offer out this morning."
Goebel, who is quickly becoming one of the hottest prospects in Illinois, has played both offensive and defensive line, and doesn't have a real preference as to where he'll play at the next level.
"A lot of schools are recruiting me at defensive line, but there are one or two that want me at offensive line," he said. "I don't care as long as I'm helping out the team."
Goebel has a busy spring planned, having already solidified plans to visit Ohio State on March 31st and Wisconsin on April 14th. He also hopes to get out to Iowa City on March 25th, but hasn't made specifics plans as of yet.
Goebel wouldn't name any schools specifically, but said that he was starting to narrow down his choices.
