Q: You have made your commitment?

Jonathan Gimm: I made it last night, actually.

Q: What got you interested in Iowa?

Gimm: I've got family there. The other half is that they have a great program, they have great academics. Everything there is great.

Q: Have you been to Iowa much?

Gimm: I was born in Iowa, Bettendorf.

Q: What kind of player are you out on the field?

Gimm: I'm a hard-nosed football player, I like to get down and dirty. I show off my blocking ability, mostly. My team is a run-blocking team, but I've been to a couple camps. Most of the camps I go to, I have to catch a bit, show off my catching ability. I just play the game, I love the game. I just try and play it with passion.

Q: Where does Iowa see you playing?

Gimm: TE, but they had a staff meeting. I can play a bunch of other positions, and they talked about me over there too, defensive end maybe.

Q: What's your 40-yard dash time?

Gimm: 4.7

Q: What other offers were on the table for you?

Gimm: Nebraska, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Boise State and Rice.

Q: How long as Iowa been recruiting you?

Gimm: Last year was my first year starting, but I played a lot my sophomore year. They've been talking to me since my junior year, evaluating and stuff like that. They took a bit longer than I thought they would to offer, but it finally came down and I love it.

Q: Have you been to any Iowa games?

Gimm: I haven't been to any, actually. I live in Texas, so I can't really. My brother goes to Iowa, so he tells me everything about it.

Q: Is it nice to have the decision out of the way?

Gimm: It's good to get it out of the way, just able to relieve the pressure. Going through this senior season, I just want to focus on my team, help be a leader, help them to a state championship.
