Q: (A question on if the team is ready for the season)
Bryan Mattison: Any time the season starts, you get excited. We're still in camp mode, still have another week. We're just focused on improving.
Q: A different attitude this year for the team, after last year's season?
Mattison: We're still a team. We still go out and try to play hard. I don't know if last year has much to do with it. This is a different team than it was last year, we're just looking to improve through the rest of camp and have fun.
Q: A lot of the guys said there was a different way you prepared for Texas than the rest of the season. More focused. Has that carried over?
Mattison: We learned a lot from last season. We learned a lot in between the bowl game and the end of the season. I'd like to think it's carried over, it seems about the same. It's been good preparing that way. Hopefully we'll continue to do that.
Q: Talk about the d-line, you guys looked good, a lot of experience, are you expecting big things?
Mattison: Yeah. I don't want to sit here and say we're expecting big things, but we'll just watch the film and see how we did out here today. Every position, top to bottom, there's room to get better. This is a scrimmage, we're still in camp mode, just trying to get ready for the season.
Q: One more week of camp, usually this is the end. How does that feel different, getting that in today?
Mattison: Usually, we break camp right now. We've still got another week. Mentally, you've got to keep the young guys going. We're just excited that we have another week to prepare. We have another week to get better and move on from there.
Q: Does that change the mentality going into the season? Saturday, then coming back in on Tuesday?
Mattison: Last year, we broke camp, we went home, then came back the next day. We had class every morning. It's the same thing. Now we just don't have as many distractions. We're doing the same stuff we would have done last year.
