INJURY REPORT: Kicker Austin Signor (leg) didn't dress for the game. Daniel Murray handled the kicking duties.

WR Trey Stross (hamstring) was not in uniform for a second week in a row. Iowa is hoping to get him back in practice this week.

Brian Bulaga (leg) and Karl Klug (leg) also sat out this game.

Tony Moeaki (elbow, hand) left the game early in the first half. Kirk Ferentz said his starting TE suffered a dislocated elbow and a possible broken hand.

Andy Brodell (hamstring) also went to the bench in the first quarter and did not return. The starting WR came out of the locker room in the second half on crutches.

Ferentz said that the injuries to Moeaki and Brodell were "significant" and didn't sound hopeful that either would return anytime in the near future.

Julian Vandervelde (ankle) came out in the first half and had his left ankle taped. He returned to the sideline. Coach Ferentz said he was told by trainers that his starting right guard could return but the freshman wasn't able to get any leverage.

QUICK SLANTS:

-Running back Dana Brown made his first road trip of the season.

-Colin Sandeman replaced Brodell at PR.

-Iowa used a 3-4 alignment several times on passing downs. LB Bryon Gattas replaced DT Matt Kroul. They also used a nickel with Bradley Fletcher and a dime with Fletcher and Jordan Bernstine.

-Wisconsin's touchdown with :43 left in the first half was the first one allowed by Iowa this season. The Hawkeyes were the last team left in the country to give one up.

-Former Iowa center Brian Ferentz and his brother, James, a Hawkeye verbal commitment for 2008, watched the game from the sidelines. Brian was seen listening in on the team's offensive line meetings during the game.

-Wisconsin sacked Iowa quarterback Jake Christensen five times, the most by the Badgers since tallying five against San Diego State last season.

Iowa's 2 for 16 third-down conversion rate represented the worst performance by a Badger opponent since Sand Diego State a year ago.

-Iowa did not gain a rushing yard in the first half.

-Backup quarterback Arvell Nelson worked out with the Iowa receivers before the game and stayed with that group throughout the contest. He wore WR gloves during the action and appeared ready to enter the game in that capacity late, but never got a rep.

-After working out with the defensive line in last week's warm-ups, Dezman Moses ran with the linebackers again in Madison.

-Iowa managed just 10 yards in the first quarter.
