Coming off a stellar senior season in which he rushed for 1700 yards and 24 touchdowns in 9 games, Mark Ingram is ready to settle into his recruitment
First off, he'll be taking an official visit to Michigan State the weekend of Saturday, December 1.
The following weekend, Ingram will be finally making his way down to Iowa City to visit the Hawkeyes, something he's been trying to do for months. Travel difficulties have pretended two previous scheduled officials.
Lastly, he'll be heading to Illinois on December 14th.
When asked if he had any idea on a target date for his decision, Ingram was unsure.
"It might be the day I go [on a visit], it might be a few weeks later, it might be a few months later," he said. "Whenever I feel right."
Of the three schools in this sweep of visits, Iowa and Michigan State would seem to have a leg up, each for different reasons.
Ingram likely got his athletic ability (10.69 100m and 21.9 200m, along with a 23-8 foot long jump) from his dad, Mark Ingram Sr., who played at Michigan State and then in the NFL. That may sway Ingram toward the Spartans.
Iowa has an immediate opening at RB, with only one scholarship RB currently slated to return next year. After losing Illinois RB Jason Ford to the Illini last week, that may play in Iowa's favor.
