Jermil Martin, a RB/FB/DL from Glenville HS in Cleveland, Ohio took an official visit to Iowa this weekend, after receiving an offer over the summer.

"Iowa has been calling me all the time, they've come up periodically, talking to me, visiting me," he said. "That's how the recruiting has gone so far."

Iowa, who currently has four former Tarblooders on its roster, has dipped back into the school again, hoping to snag the 6-1, 230 pound first-team all state selection. On his visit, he was hosted by former teammate and current Hawkeye LB Bruce Davis.

"The visit went well," Martin said. "I didn't commit yet, I'm going to take another visit this following weekend, after that, I'll be able to make my decision where I want to go."

Two other teams on Martin's radar are the Wisconsin Badgers and of course, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

"Wisconsin has offered me already, but the Buckeyes, they're talking about offering me, but haven't," Martin said. "(I should hear) sometime this week, early this week, tomorrow or the next day."

While in Iowa City, Martin went out to eat, enjoyed some one-on-one time with the coaching staff, and got a chance to meet with Kirk Ferentz. He was also able to catch up with another friend, Arvell Nelson.

"I'm talking to Arvell a lot, and his little brother still lives in Cleveland, I talk to him a lot," Martin said of another former teammate. "I think all of them are doing a real good job. They'll be playing within the next two years."
