Parker Completes Visit to Iowa City

The Hawkeyes hosted only one official visitor this past weekend after WR Andrew Weatherly decided to take the SAT once again. Visitor QB Lance Parker came to Iowa City as a commitment to Vanderbilt University, and as the second quarterback from Arkansas in two years to visit Iowa. Find out if Iowa City was good enough to change Lance's mind and when he will be making a final decision.

Good news has not been hard to come by the past few months for Hawkeye football fans. However, this weekend may not prove to be the great recruiting weekend some had come to expect.

"I had a great visit to Iowa City," Lance informed HTO.com. "However, right now I'm still leaning strongly towards my commitment to Vanderbilt. I just have a higher comfort level at Vandy currently."

So did the Hawkeye staff put pressure on Lance this weekend to de-commit from Vanderbilt?

"I received no pressure at all from the Hawkeye coaches. They handled the situation very well. I liked what I saw in Iowa City. Right now, I plan to let Iowa know whether I will give them further consideration or not within a week."

Although the Hawks were not able to come away clearly with a change of mind from Lance, this weekend still was very impressive in the signal caller's opinion.

"The game was great," Lance added. "It moved along pretty slow, but those types of games happen. I've been to a few SEC games and it is a bit louder, but Hawkeye football certainly gets a large group of people tailgaiting and showing support."

Lance will finish up his regular season this Friday as Bryant High School will head into the Arkansas State Playoffs.

It is not looking very positive for the Hawks concerning Lance Parker, but all Hawk fans should wish Lance the best with his decision making this week. He is a tremendous young man and will represent any university he chooses very well!
