INJURY REPORT: Linebacker Jeff Tarpinian missed his fourth game of the season with a hamstring injury. He closed in a return during the week of the FIU game, but re-aggravated that injury on that Wednesday and is probably at least a week or two away.

Michael Sabers missed his fourth game with injury. Ferentz said earlier in the week that he thought the senior had a shot to make the trip.

Fullback Brett Morse was replaced in the starting lineup by Wade Leppert. Morse injured his ankle during the week. He tried to see if he could go during warm-ups, but he could not.

Greene exited the field in the first quarter after hurting his left elbow. He missed several plays but came back in after getting his arm wrapped.

Greenwood was replaced by Morrow late 4th and trainers worked on Greenwood's right hand. He would return later in the game.

-Leppert started the first game of his career. He took all the fullback reps.

-Tyler Sash forced a fumble on Pitt's opening drive. It was recovered by Kroul. Eubanks played first two series

-After Iowa's first field goal, Jayme Murphy saved a big return on the ensuing kickoff.

-Fletcher nicely broke up a pass on an early bomb to Derek Kinder.

-When Cross scrambled up the middle for a touchdown, he faked out two Hawkeye defensive backs in Sash and Prater.

-Iowa converted just 4 of 17 third down attempts on Saturday and now are 18 for 53 on the season.

-On the Hawkeyes' first two third-down chances, Christensen overthrew DJK and Brodell. Jake overthrows DJK and Brodell on third down passes.

-Paul Chaney did not make the trip.

-Stanzi took his first snap at 12:25 of the second quarter after Christensen played three series.

-On Greene's 32-yard run, Bruggeman and Olsen pulled nicely and Calloway also kicked out well. Bruggeman followed it up with a nice block on Greene's ensuing TD run.

-Iowa was called for delay of game on a fourth and short it appeared set to go for. The play was late coming in from the sidelines.

-The battle at MLB seems to have shifted to Angerer, who saw most of the reps on Saturday. He replaced Coleman on all potential pass plays.

-After Spievey's INT, he appeared to have room to run until he got crossed up with Clayborn, who seemed to inadvertently chest bump the DB to the ground.

-The fans at Heinz Field were heard booing their team on a few occasions. It was directed at coaching decisions.

-Jason Manson attended the game.

-Angerer led Iowa in tackles with seven. Hunter chipped in with six, while Sash, Greenwood and Spievey added five each.

-Greene has rushed for at least 100 yards in each of the first four games.

-Iowa is plus-4 in turnover margin (10-6).
