Some Hawk fans had grown cautious after losing Jonathan Stupar to Virginia, but in fact the Hawks may still be recruiting their best potential tight end on the board. That would be Marcel Frost, whom at 6'5 235, has some of the best playmaking skills out of all the tight ends currently ranked in the TheInsiders database.
"Right now, I have Iowa, Boston College, and Pittsburgh as my top three teams," Marcel said in anticipation of taking a well deserved nap. "I visited Pitt this weekend, and the visit went well. I have Maryland coming by tomorrow evening for an in-home and Pittsburgh sometime later this week. I hope to have my decision made either shortly before or after Christmas."
Iowa coaches have already made their way to the Frost household after Marcel's November 22nd official visit. They have made no secret in letting Marcel know he is one of the top athletes on their board.
In fact, it has not just been the words from the Hawkeye coaches that has helped Marcel gain trust, but their actions on the field have helped a lot, also.
"They deliver the ball to the tight end a lot. I had a real nice official visit to Iowa City, and I liked the players there a lot. It is a real good atmosphere with so much commotion over the football program."
With his decision quickly upcoming, what will be the final factor examined in announcing his choice.
"The coaches and the team will be the most significant factors. I want to relate well with both groups. I also want the chance to make plays at tight end."
Iowa has had no problem in allowing Dallas Clark to make plays all over the field; in earning 1st Team All-American honors. Will Dallas reside after next season to potentially pass the torch over to Marcel Frost? Or will his talents be displayed in the Big East? Perhaps, with a Christmas decision looming, only those in the North Pole know!
