Gay Set to Visit Iowa

A strange sequence of events helped MidwestRecruits.com's Chris Pool and I learn that Tallahassee Rickards DB William Gay will now be visiting the Hawks this weekend. After initially following up on a report of a possible Purdue offer, Chris came across the fact Iowa is the lone Big Ten school involved. I also come across the fact from my talk with Tallahassee Godby Head Coach Shelton Crews. Here is your chance to learn more on William.

"I'm going to Iowa this weekend," said athlete William Gay.

"I went to Louisville (1-17) last week and I have a visit set up with East Carolina (1-31) at the end of the month.

"Iowa hasn't offered yet but their coaches will be in the school today and they might offer me.

"Right now Louisville is my leader because they were my only visit. I need something to compare then with and I'll be able to do that this weekend at Iowa."

Gay, a 5-foot-11, 165-pounder, from Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards was a four-year letter winner and three-year varsity starter.

Gay is speed burner that's been timed at 4.3 in the 40-yard dash. He started at wide receiver and cornerback as a sophomore, moved to quarterback as a junior and started at wide receiver and cornerback in 2002.

Gay is also a specialist, handling all the kick return duties and he's extremely dangerous in the open field. Most schools are recruiting William as a cornerback.
