Injury Report: Stanzi was crushed by Corey Wootton midway through the second quarter and the Iowa quarterback's right leg was bent back behind him. Trainers looked at him on the bench before taking him to the locker room. He was replaced by Vandenberg.

Word from Ed Podolak in the press box was that Stanzi sustained a high ankle sprain and would be done for the regular season. Coach Kirk Ferentz confirmed that news in the postgame.

Brett Greenwood, who missed last week with a stinger suffered at Michigan State, dressed for a second game in a row. He didn't play, however, as Conlkin started in his place and recorded an interception.

Quick Notes:

-Ryan Edwards warmed up as a place kicker during the pregame. He's listed on the roster as a defensive back.

-Eubanks was called for a hold late in the first half that wiped out a potential long TD run by Wegher. The replay showed that the flag was very questionable.

-Stanzi's 14 interceptions this season lead the Big Ten.

-Angerer recorded a game-high 17 tackles on Saturday to raise his season total to 106.

-Hunter added 10 stops to raise his ‘09 total to 80.

-Iowa averaged 16.6 yards per completion on Saturday, but 74 yards came on the pass play to McNutt.

-In the second half, Iowa punted on all but two possessions. The others were a missed field goal and when the Hawkeyes turned it over on downs on their final series.

-Northwestern came into the game allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete 65.1 percent of their passes with an efficiency rate of more than 150.0.

-The Wildcats were 9 of 18 on third-down conversions, while the Hawkeyes struggled to 4 of 14.

-Northwestern held a 34:20-25:40 advantage in time of possession.

-The Wildcats won for the third time in a row at Kinnick Stadium, the first time that has ever happened in this series.

-Iowa kicker Daniel Murray has now missed two of his last three field goal attempts. He misfired on a 46-yarder on Saturday and was off from 44 last week against Indiana.

-Northwestern turned The Hawkeyes over four times. Iowa had one takeaway.

-The Wildcats came into Saturday last in the Big Ten in rushing during conference games and outgained Iowa, 130-65 on the ground.

-The Hawkeyes rushed 27 times or 65 yards, a 2.4 per carry average.

-Clayborn and Ballard each recorded a sack, while Daniels and Binns split one.
