Northern Iowa followed up a win at Iowa State last week with a dominating, 67-50 victory against Iowa on Tuesday night.

The Panthers (6-1) used a 17-0, first-half run to take control of the game. Iowa (3-6)cut its deficit to six in the second half, but the home team responded to cruise to the win.
Matt Gatens led Iowa with 18 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the floor. Cully Payne and Anthony Tucker each added nine in a losing cause.
Kwadzo Ahelegbe led all scorers with 20 points on 8 of 10 shooting for the winners. The Panthers shot 53.1 percent from the floor on the night.
Iowa returns to action Friday night with another in-state showdown at Iowa State.
