QUICK-HITTERS

-Richardson announced after the game that he was going to forego a chance to play get a sixth year at Iowa and try his chances in the NFL.

-Spievey, a junior, said he is 50-50 on his decision to stay or leave early and will announce "around Thursday or something."

-Bulaga, a true junior, said he won't have a decision until the end of the week on his intentions.

-Wegher broke the school's freshman rushing touchdowns record with a score on the ground on Tuesday night. It gave him eight, one more than Jewel Hampton had last season.

-Iowa attempted a fake field goal late in the fourth quarter that the Jackets sniffed out. Murray took a good shot trying to run into the end zone and walked off the field gingerly.

-Clayborn recorded two sacks and eight tackles in the first half.

-J.D. Griggs, Joe Gaglione and Nolan MacMillan did not dress for the game. They were on the sidelines in sweats and jerseys.

-Iowa's starting OL from left to right: Bulaga, Vandervelde, Eubanks, Calloway, Reiff.

-The kickoff temperature of was 49 degrees, a new record for the Orange Bowl. It was 57 at the start of the 2008 game here.

-Robinson started at RB despite pre-game speculation that an injury would force him out of the action. Wegher spelled him on the second series. They alternated series throughout the game.

-Prater left after Iowa's first defensive series and was replaced by true freshman Micah Hyde. Prater limped off with what looked like a left leg injury, but returned on the following series.

-Richardson came in at LG on the fourth series.

-McNutt's first-quarter TD gave him eight receiving grabs on the season, which tied him for fourth in the Hawkeye record books. Mo Brown set the record with 11 in ‘02.

- Stanzi tossed his fourth Pick 6 of the season.

-DJK left the game after bending his left leg under him in an awkward way midway through the second quarter. It was later determined that he did not have possession. DJK's knee supposedly locked up at halftime and he did not return. Keenan Davis took his place on kickoffs.

-Iowa led 14-7 after one quarter having outgained the Yellow Jackets 185-18 on offense. Tech did not have a first down until 7:20 remained in the second period.

-Stross posted on his FB Tuesday afternoon that it didn't look like he was going to play. The senior receiver did come in late in the second quarter.
