"Nah, I didn't feel very good," the Class of 2011 running back said. "I was just chillin' at home. I needed some time to myself. It seems like I've been traveling every weekend."
Speculation surfaced this weekend that the three-star talent was closing in on a decision. It was rumored that he might be the first commitment for Iowa in the ‘11 class.
"Um, I'm not ready to make a decision," said Gordon, who laughed when he heard the word that was going around. "The way things are looking, I think I'll make a decision before my season starts. Time will tell."
Gordon added an offer from Louisville recently and is interested in taking more visits outside of Iowa and Wisconsin, two of his favorites.
"A couple of my friends and my coach have been to Michigan State and they said it was great," the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder said. "I'd like to go there for a visit. I've also heard good things about Cincinnati and their facilities.
"I'll see about visits. I hate to travel."
Gordon said that all of the schools that have offered scholarships are recruiting him as a running back.
"Wisconsin was looking at me as a DB, but they definitely want me as a running back now," he said.
Gordon suggested that maybe Iowa fans speculated that he was ready to join them because he tells most people he talks to how much he likes the Hawkeyes.
"Iowa is my favorite," he said. "I'm leaning towards them the most. But I want to make sure it's the right choice. I want to see other schools and what they have to offer."
Gordon said that could include visits or just more research. Either way, he's not prepared to end his recruitment yet.
