Armonze Daniel potentially fits that bill.
The Class of 2011 outside linebacker from Avon received an offer from Iowa last Wednesday. He's scheduled to welcome Johnson, the Iowa recruiting coordinator, into his high school today (Tuesday).
"Coach Johnson has been recruiting me since I was a sophomore, but I was still surprised by the offer," the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder said. "I really like Iowa a lot. I like Coach Johnson."
Daniel as been clocked at 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
"Iowa's told me that they like the way I make plays in space," he said.
Daniel said Georgia has been contacting him a lot and he felt that an offer from the SEC school was close. Montez Robinson, Daniel's older brother, was dismissed from the Bulldogs team last month after an early April arrest.
"I hope so," Daniel said when asked if he thought Georgia would offer.
Daniels plans to visit Iowa City in June with his high school coach.
"Coach Johnson is always begging me to come up and take a look," Daniel said. "I really like Iowa so I want to see what it's like. I've wanted to come before, but I've had transportation issues."
Daniel moved to Indiana from Alabama several years ago.
"It was a family thing," he said. "I came up with my brother (Robinson)."
"I'm just trying to take it all in," Daniel said. "I want to enjoy it and not take it too fast. I'm not going to commit for a while. I have a lot to see."
