2011 QB Rudock Joins the Hawkeyes

As Hawkeye Insider indicated Wednesday night, 2011 QB Jacob Rudock verbally committed to Iowa. The South Florida product chose Iowa ahead of scholarship offers from Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and others.

The Miami Herald confirmed what we reported last night. Fort Lauderdale Aquinas High Quarterback Jacob Rudock verbally committed to the University of Iowa football team on Wednesday.

Here's a Link to the Herald piece and here's a link to his Scout.com profile, where you can find stories and video highlights of the newest Hawkeye.

HawkeyeInsider.com has left messages with Rudock and hopes to file a story on his commitment sometime today.

I just spoke with Bob Rudock, Jake's dad.

Bob said it came down to us and Wisconsin. The Badgers were on him before us and several of Jake's Aquinas teammates play in Madison. Bob said it was very tough to tell Coach Bielema he was going to Iowa.

The reason Jake didn't go public w/ his decision yesterday was that he wanted to call all the other schools that recruited him before it was out there. Impressive. Shows responsibility.
