Zettel plans official visit to Iowa

It will be hard for a team to come in to Michigan and snag Anthony Zettel from either the Wolverines or Spartans, but there's a chance. HawkeyeInsider.com's Josh Harvey caught up with the soon to be senior to get his future plans.

It will be hard for a team to come in to Michigan and snag Anthony Zettel from either the Wolverines or Spartans, but there's a chance.

The Scout.com 4-star lineman narrowed his choices to six a few months ago and still has Iowa in the fold.

"I'm might narrow it down one more time, but I don't know," said Zettel. "I would say Iowa right now in the middle of my leaders. I haven't really gotten to know them as well as I would have liked. I haven't been able to go and see them yet, but they have a great program so I"m considering them."

With the season fast approaching, many of the top players in the nation are wrapping up their recruitment. The pressures of picking a school during the season can be tough on any recruit. But, Zettel isn't worried about it and plans to make a decision during the season.

"I think that I'm going to carry my decision out throughout the season a bit. I don't really worry about it, because I'm not thinking about it all the time," said the Ogemaw Heights (MI) product. "I want to take an official visit there (Iowa). They are such a good program, so I can't dismiss them without seeing them."

Zettell has already seen Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, and plans to visit Penn State in the future as well.

He is looking for a school with great academics, but also has a shot at winning the national title.

"I'm not worried about playing time very much, because I work hard and I think that I will play wherever I go," said Zettel.

At this point, many schools project him to play on either sides of the ball. Both the Wolverines and Spartans want to see how his body pans out.

"I was looking at how many offensive lineman Iowa puts in the league. It's good, but to be honest I might play defense at the next level. I don't know. With my body size, it might be better for me. I'm only about 255 pounds right now."

HawkeyeInsider.com will continue to monitor Anthony Zettel's recruitment and inform Iowa fans if anything breaks.
