Information comes out in many different ways these days. Saturday night, Class of '11 Iowa Verbal Commitment Marcus Grant tweeted that his prep teammate at Lawrence Academy was joining him with the Hawkeyes.
Marcus Grant broke the news on his twitter account shortly after Iowa Recruiting coordinator Eric Johnson tweeted that the Hawkeyes had received a new commitment.
Johnson and the other Hawkeye coaches are prohibited from speaking about a recruit by name until the signs in February per NCAA rules.
Orloff is a very good athlete. He plays quarterback and defensive back at Lawrence Academy. He's being recruited by Iowa as a linebacker.
Orloff also held a scholarship offer from Louisville and was being recruited by Rutgers and other BCS programs.
Orloff becomes the 11th known verbal commitment for Iowa in the class of 2011. Nine of those commits are projected on the defensive side of the ball.
Hawkeyeinsider.com caught up with Orloff on Sunday night and filed this story:
