Davis going with.....

"It makes me feel good, because I know I have some people out there that really like my talent," said Ed Davis on what it's like having fans patiently wait for his decision. HawkeyeInsider.com's Josh Harvey caught up with the Iowa offeree.

What did recruitniks do without social media like Facebook and Twitter? On the same night that we learned of an Iowa commitment by a current verbal's Twitter page, we discovered that Detroit Southeastern linebacker Ed Davis has made up his mind. The only thing is, he's not telling anyone.

"I want to make sure I made the right decision," said Davis to HawkeyeInsider.com on Facebook Monday night. 'Something could change about a school, so I want to it out a while longer."

Currently Davis has known offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Bowing Green, Central Michigan, Toledo, Syracuse, and Cincinnati. He is expected to make his decision in late August, days before his first game of the season.

"It was very hard. The schools I had in mind were all good schools, but just one school stood out in the end. It just felt right," said Davis.

Iowa appears to be one of the favorites to land the 6-foot-3, 210 pound 3-star linebacker. In June, the Michigan product visited Iowa on an unofficial visit. During his trip, he met up with former Hawkeye Bob Sanders.

"I thought the campus was really nice and peaceful. I liked the coaches. They showed me some major love when I was there," said the 2011 offeree. "Iowa is definitely a place I could see myself playing at. No doubt, I would love to play there."

HawkeyeInsider.com will have the very latest on August 27th, when Davis is expected to make an announcement.
